title = "Digital Competence in Educators Through Interaction with a Virtual Learning Environment",
abstract = "Digital technologies have had a huge impact on the modern information society, affecting how education is delivered. For this reason, different institutions have started to define frameworks for the assessment of digital competences. For that reason, the European Commission have created DigCompEdu, to assess digital competence in teachers. Since then, many studies have defined tools to determine the level of competence in educators by creating questionnaires. However, in this study, we want to focus on analyzing whether this level of competence can be inferred through the interaction teachers have with a virtual learning environment such as Moodle. The results presented in this study show that sufficient tools exist to determine a wide range of competence levels. However, the very nature of a virtual learning environment presents some drawbacks that need to be considered.",
