Description

"This project encompasses three main objectives:
Objective 1: To implement a demonstrator materialized in an interactive IoT scalable data acquisition, storage and processing pipeline deployed on top of a virtual cloud computing infrastructure able to collect and store multimodal data from urban sensors (air quality, population density, weather, traffic, vegetation, urban furniture usage). This demonstrator will be also used to improve the spatial understanding in both 2D and 3D.
Objective 2: Upon the insights extracted from the collected data, we will study on a nearest scale the large axes that cross the city of Barcelona, basically NW-SE and SO-NE, but also the diagonals. This research will drive and refine the recommendations and abstract models provided by the following objective.
Objective 3: Use artificial intelligence and predictive analytics algorithms (machine learning and data mining) to will build effective systems for automatic inference and recommendation in urban planning. In this objective, we will also present also the use of digital transformation in processes of urban design through Virtual Reality in which specialized and non-specialized public can analyze, represent and transmit ideas, problems and solutions for the design of the urban uses and spaces.
Objective 4: To create a complement for decision support systems that uses the automatic prediction model provided by Objective 3 to understand and better explain both, in educational and professional framework how every variable that architects and urban policies use to design our cities will affect citizens’ health and, in consequence, how architects, local entities, and the same citizens could improve their health by optimizing the urban design."
