Resum
The findings of a study of the use of social networks in newsrooms are presented. The objects of study are Catalan and Belgian journalists. A traditional newspaper and a pure player of each region are studied through qualitative (in-depth interviews and non-participant observation) and quantitative techniques (content analysis of corporate Twitter accounts) collected between 2013 and 2014. The journalists have adapted the microblogging site in their daily work routines to access information and to disseminate their own content; however, contact with sources and conversation with the audience, which are recommended uses in the 2.0 communication system to encourage bidirectionality, were limited.
