Resumen
It is an understatement to say that the General Court and its members are used to cases relating to restrictive measures. In 2022 alone, they represented 11.4% of all applications lodged before it (see the detailed judicial statistics for the General Court, 2022, p. 4). However, the judgment its Grand Chamber delivered on the 13th September 2023 in the Venezuela v Council case stands out in many aspects, which this solemn (the most solemn, in fact, since the disappearance of the full court formation after 1992) judging formation reflects.
