Resumen

Technological platform competition unfolds beyond the boundaries of a single market. Firstly, platforms make business model choices about the core functionality with the main goal of stimulating reinforcing network effects between user groups; secondly, they expand into neighboring markets in search of cross-platform complementarities. This expansion blurs market boundaries and creates a 'supra-platform market'.
