Resumen

The management of the long-lived and high activity nuclear waste is one of the major concerns related with nuclear energy. Accelerator driven system (ADS) reactors have been proposed as one of the strategies to deal with this matter. In this type of reactor, lead - bismuth eutectic alloy (LBE) is suggested as a coolant. However, this alloy is highly corrosive towards structural steels. In order to avoid that, it is important to maintain a passivation layer of Fe 3O4 on the structural material. The oxygen content should be between 10-30 bar and 10-19 bar. In this direction, many studies about thermodynamic properties of oxygen in liquid LBE have been performed. In this work, a method to determine the oxygen solubility in LBE has been developed.
