Resumen
Science and its application are critical if we are to solve many of the world’s most pressing challenges, yet we know surprisingly little about how science and
scientists respond to specific opportunities. In the third edition of our symposium devoted to exploring the dynamics of moving from research to
development, we turn our focus to the factors that influence the elasticity of science. We present four empirical studies that explore how data access, funding
and crises shape the trajectory of science and scientists. Through this symposium we hope to spark future research on the drivers of science and science
driven innovation.
