Navigating Entrepreneurial Landscapes: The Orchestration Role of Intermediaries in Entrepreneurial Ecosystems Across Different Stages and Regions

This study explores the orchestration roles of innovation intermediaries in entrepreneurial ecosystems across five regions in southwest Germany, focusing on startup lifecycle stages. Utilizing a multiple-case study approach, it identifies six key roles: shapers, architects, conductors, facilitators, mediators, and leaders. These roles adapt to the evolving needs of startups, highlighting the dynamic nature of intermediaries. The research emphasizes the importance of understanding the changing relationship dynamics between intermediaries and startups, which influence the evolution of these roles. The findings contribute to entrepreneurship and innovation policy, providing insights into effective support strategies for startups at different development stages.
