Resumen
This article explores some crucial nuances of the promotion of linguistic pluralism within Indian constitutionalism. Notably giving an account on two main aspects: the recognition of official languages; the formation of Indian States on linguistic basis (the so called "Linguistic States"). What comes up is, more broadly, a reflection on the role of language in crafting the Indian State, whose comparative fascination with Europe (and even the EU) may find new academic grounding nowadays.
