Resumen

Accelerated materials development using ion irradiation is currently of great interest in the nuclear materials community due to its reduced costs and increased dose rates compared to traditional neutron irradiations. However, the shallow ion-irradiated zones require micro-and nano-scale post-irradiation examination. Thus, connecting these small-scale results to engineering-scale properties is an extremely important endeavor. This work examines eight neutron-irradiated alloys using nanoindentation to determine whether previously developed correlations between tensile yield stress and Vickers microhardness can be used to predict engineering-scale mechanical properties.
