Resumen
The future of our world is up for debate. We are confronted with climate change, geo-political tensions, polarization in society, demographic issues, disruptive technologies, poverty and health issues. The social development goals of the United Nations make our global challenges more than clear. Disruptions in our current world transform our businesses models and the way we adapt to a business environment that looks like a volcano. In this article we focus on VOLCANO as perceived by many business partners and we reflect what a VOLCANO environment means for leadership, organizational culture, strategy development, decision making, communication, innovation and talent management. Outcomes from research in 1200 organizations are presented and it seems that many organizations are living on a volcano and not ready to act when the volcano disrupts.
