Resumen

The electrophoretic deposition process has been used to prepare Cr₂O₃ and ZrO₂ coatings on carbon steel. The study corresponding to the corrosion rate and the polarisation curves on carbon steel with and without those coatings in three different media, shows the anticorrosive action of the applied coatings and let us study the different influence of these coatings in the tested media. The study of the metal-coating profile by means of scanning electron microscopy will prove the adhesion of the two applied coatings to the substrate.
