Resumen

The proliferation of IoT devices requires different form factors, presenting a particular challenge in the realm of antenna systems; these must be both efficient and able to operate across a large range of frequency bands while remaining compact. Traditionally, the development of small, multiband antennas for wireless devices has leaned on complex geometric shapes, with the resonant modes dictating the frequency bands of operation. However, this complexity can pose challenges in device design. To simplify the design process, antenna boosters were introduced. These antenna boosters enable control over the frequency bands of operation through the design of a matching network, offering a more accessible and faster alternative to designing antennas than with complex geometries. One notable obstacle emerges when the ground plane is limited in size relative to the wavelength (<̴0.18λ) when operating across large frequency bands. To overcome these demands, a solution based on reconfigurable antenna boosters is proposed.
