IIK is the immediate successor of GRACO, consolidated research group since 2009.
The purpose of the institute is to host and nourish ESADE’s most significant efforts to understand the creation of knowledge and innovation. Our team is a cross-disciplinary group dedicated to understanding the sources, mechanisms, and consequences of innovation: where it comes from; how it is diffused and adopted; and how it affects individual, social, and economic structures when in use. Our main research topics can be summarized in two lines:
- Open innovation, open science, open government & smart cities and,
- Technology evolution & business model innovation
