Weaving Educational Communities: The SchoolWeavers Pilot Study as a Participatory Tool for School Transformation

Research output: Indexed journal article Articlepeer-review

Abstract

In the post-pandemic context, empowering schools to face socio-educational challenges is vital. This article reports how three schools in Catalonia implemented the SchoolWeavers tool to strengthen their learning ecosystems. Using an action-research approach, the study combined interviews, workshops, documentation and questionnaires, revealing how leadership teams mobilized internal social capital and community partnerships to interpret relational data and drive pedagogical change. Findings indicate leveraging internal capacity and community partnerships fosters innovation, equity and educational improvement, and highlight a need for structured facilitation and facilitator training to sustain innovation. This pilot functions as proof of concept and indicates the tool’s suitability for larger-scale testing.
