Abstract
Working in the place where people are living involves a number of complexities which are notpresent in other places where professionals of the socio-educational action intervene. The homewhere people live must be a place with a high level of respect because it is one of the main spacesin life. It is where many important decisions that have an impact on people’s short and long term
biographies are made.
The physical and architectural construction of a house is only the first step for what it will meanto inhabit it afterwards. In this sense, the new approaches to disability and human diversity havemeant that people with intellectual disabilities have spaces for participation in socio-educationalcare resources. Supportive housing, in all its forms, are resources which must house spaces
of intimacy, generated from the different ways of living that people have.
The relationship that human beings establish with their own homes must be strengthened by themanagement carried out by the professional team, taking into account such important aspectsof life as spirituality and the search for meaning in life. In the same way, the management of this type of devices must contemplate the management of the ethical conflicts that intrinsically occur
