Abstract

The effectiveness of video modeling as an educational tool for people with autism has proven to be a promising area for researchers and members of the educational community. During the last three decades, scientific literature has shown the usefulness and efficiency of video modeling to teach a variety of different behaviours. The objective of the work is to carry out a systematic review of those studies that have applied video modeling as a method to teach social skills. These studies have been classified according to the type of design they use, the characteristics of the sample, the type of intervention (if video modeling is applied alone or in combination with other techniques) and the results obtained. Descriptive summaries of each study and analysis of the results have been made. The conclusions indicate guidelines for the application of video modeling in future interventions.
