Abstract
Rett syndrome is a regressive neurodevelopmental disorder, and stereotyped movement can appear. The purpose of this study is to carry on an analogue assessment in order to observe the extent to which environmental conditions affect the problem behavior (stereotyped hand movement) of one student with Rett Syndrome. Data from the analogue assessment indicates that the problem behavior’ frequency decreases in tangible’s situation (food). Keeping these results in mind, an intervention plan is designed in order to get a positive behavior in tangible’s condition. Results show that we have tools to reduce problem behavior increasing those behaviors that are positive to the development of people with Rett Syndrome.
