The work of leadership in formal coalitions. Embracing paradox for collaboration

Research output: Book chapterChapter

Abstract

This chapter explores the paradoxical nature of coalition work. The authors find that coalition leaders face the paradox of unity and diversity in their internal work and the paradox of confrontation and dialogue with external actors. However, rather than trying to reduce, resolve or cope with these paradoxes, leaders often embrace them.
