The Guggenheim effect

Javier Santiso Guimaras

Research output: Working paper

Abstract

A single building can change an entire cityscape. Frank Gehry's Guggenheim Museum, for example, put Bilbao on the world map. The same occurs with academic institutions, private fortunes, foundations and innovatory funding schemes could be used in combination to achieve maximum impact. We believe this is not pie-in-the-sky but rather something that could harness Spain's creativity to great effect.
