Abstract
This article presents a therapeutic approach for working with parents who havechildren with behavior problems. This integrative approach combines elements ofAdlerian psychotherapy with strategic therapy. The intervention is done mainly, andsometimes exclusively, with parents, without the participation of the children. Thetherapist can act as counselor, by teaching the parents to use techniques in the familycontext, or intervene as therapist by applying techniques that stem from strategictherapy, basically in form of behavioral prescriptions. The presentation of the theory isillustrated with case descriptions.
