Abstract
We are facing major social problems. Climate change concerns many people. People worldwide lack water and food and have little access to good education and good health care. Polarization in society and international tensions are increasing. These problems are so complex that they can only be addressed through collaboration. It is time for values-driven alliances. But what are values-driven alliances, how do they develop, what paradoxes arise in the collaboration and what does this require of the members in the alliance? These four questions are central to this article.
