Abstract

A method based on the modeling approach has been developed for the study of Natural Rubber vulcanization using two different accelerating systems. Squalene has been chosen as the model compound. The main reaction paths followed by sulfenamide (N-cyclohexylamine-2-benzothiazole, CBS) during the first stages of the process have been studied. In all cases, the active role of ZnO and the olefinic chain has been established.
