Abstract
Santa & Cole is a company that describes itself as a "design publisher", and which markets mainly fittings for the home and urban furniture for public places, including street trees, while running a publishing house at the same time. The company was founded in 1985 and pursues a highly personal, creative strategy. At the time the research took place, the company was undergoing an important crisis and its founder and president explained the company's philosophy and some plans for the future in detail. This case can be used to highlight the importance of design in general and, more specifically, 'design for all'. It can also be used to discuss corporate strategy and competitive advantage.
