Abstract

Night Eating Syndrome (NES) is a poorly studied eating disorder. So far, he appears to be comorbid with disorders such
as depression and anxiety. The objective of this investigation is to study the presence of NES in a community sample and its relation
to depression, anxiety, stress and different eating behaviors according to BMI. The sample consists of 1759 people who are divided
into groups based on the presence or absence of NES, determined through the Night Eating Questionnaire (NEQ). The results
confirm the relationship between NES and the three psychological variables, as well as the emotional intake. People with NES
compensate for the lack of food throughout the day with nocturnal hyperphagia, towards this time of day is when negative emotions
are more present and this can motivate the emotional intake.
