Abstract
This present chapter aims to review the origin of the current regulation of crowdfunding in Europe after the coming into force of the Regulation 2020/1503 and the modified text of the Spanish Act 5/2015. As it is shown, there is a clear parallelism between the European process and the regulatory process of this sector experienced years earlier in the United States in terms of invertors protection. Int its third part, finally, the chapter ends with a brief review of the pending issues about investors protection in the new legal regime of crowfunding.
