Abstract
A set of fractal microstrip patch antennas having a modified Sierpinski Gasket geometry is explored and compared with a genetically optimized patch. The resonant behavior, radiation patterns and the box-counting dimensions of the antennas have been investigated in order to understand the miniaturization properties. Finally, the Sierpinski-based antennas have been compared with a genetic optimized antenna.
