Abstract

Progress in the knowledge of pain and its processes, linked to advances in neuroscience, is a great challenge for health professionals. Knowing its mechanisms is not always enough, given that the processing or the way in which the person lives with their environment and their experiences leads them to generate different strategies. In sport, motivation, goals and performance are motor and cognitive challenges that are not always linked to coping capacities in the face of pain preceded by injury. The models of approaching the person with pain require an analysis in order to understand the complexity of the person and the dynamic clinical reasoning as a tool to accompany these processes.
