Abstract
The paper elaborates on how organizations' knowledge base and network embeddedness affect their propensity to engage in exploration. It used US venture capital industry as an empirical setting and makes a contribution to the line of research on networks, innovation, and the role of knowledge resources in organizational
behavior.
