Abstract
Aprenentage i Serveis (APS, abbreviation in Catalan for “Learning and Services”) is an educational proposal that combines learning and community service processes in a single project. Aprenentatge i Servei at Centre Penitenciari de Lledoners was created by students and teachers at the Facultad d’Educació Social i Treball Social Pere Tarrés (Faculty Pere Tarrés of Social Education and Social Work) (Universitat Ramon Llull) and Grup 33, a civic platform formed by more than 7000 people from all sectors of civil society that works to raise awareness and to mobilize people, with the
goal of achieving a real integration into society of people who have been deprived of freedom. This project wants to face up to the current model of prisons in Catalonia and to promote changes towards a rehabilitation model.
