Leadership and co-creation of change: Cases in Nicaragua and the DR Congo

Research output: Conference paperContribution

Abstract

The paper describes the action of two organisations oriented to change, and the styles of their leadership. A Federation of Agrarian Co-operatives in Nicaragua and an Employer Organisation in the DR of Congo are analysed taking into account the perspective of Responsible Leadership. The hypothesis of this paper is that certain essential elements of Responsible Leadership, applied to organisations oriented to change, improve the comprehension of different kinds of organisations operating in diverse countries. In fact, nowadays leaders are involved -actively or passively- in processes of co-creation of change. A way to responsibly face this challenge includes the consideration of organisational and social goals in the leaders' priorities; and his capacity to weave webs of inclusion through negotiations with other leaders.
