La violencia simbólica hacia las personas con Covid persistente a través de sus narraciones

People with Long COVID (LC) are among the most affected by the COVID-19
pandemic. Although this phenomenon is a global health issue, those affected are often
rendered invisible and delegitimized. The aim of this research is to make visible the
situations of symbolic violence faced by individuals with LC. A qualitative
metasynthesis methodology has been employed, integrating literal narratives from
people with LC published in scientific articles from Scopus, Web of Science, and
Discovery. We find that, although the concept of symbolic violence is not explicitly
mentioned in the researchers' conclusions, many of the collected testimonies align with
some of the ten dimensions that define this concept. We conclude that the individual
experience of each of these dimensions results in situations of epistemic injustice and
helplessness.
