Abstract
Hypertextuality is a variable that allows the analysis of maturity in the practice of digital journalism. To determine the quantity (number of links per content unit) and quality (types of link according to their semantic implications) of hypertext use in Colombia, an empirical studied about two online newspapers, El Espectador and El Tiempo, has been conducted. The study is based on the content units published in the front page of each newspaper, the number of links in the total of content units, and the amount of contextual, relational and recommended links. The use of these links is revealed very scarce and superficial.
