Abstract
We analyzed the training and professional situation of nurses teaching in the University Schools of Nursing, the incidence of training processes followed in the course of exercising their university duties and their mediatory role in the university education of future nurses in order to evaluate whether the standard of nursing studies reached by these teachers when entering the university environment is the most appropriate possible for performing their duties. A qualitative approach was used.
The conclusion reached is that standards of university education in nursing are too low in teachers in the University Schools of Nursing and changes in training are proposed.
