Guinovart i Cirera, Emeritus Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Barcelona (UB), and IRB Barcelona Emeritus Professor, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 77 due to complications from pancreatic cancer. Dr Guinovart was a renowned biochemist celebrated for his pioneering research on glycogen metabolism and his influential leadership in science.
