Abstract

This paper presents an integrative theoretical proposal on the concept of Nodal Identity, its connections with the concept of meaning as postulated by Frankl, and a brief example of an intervention derived from
these ideas. The concept of identity is not explicit in Frankl’s paradigm,
but implicit in their thesis. Applying this paradigm to the concept of identity, it is found that identity is a relational, dialogic and transcendent process; and can be considered as the integration of significant experiences
in the three dimensions of identity, including its dual nature: factual and
facultative. Beyond the theoretical knots, the intervention in the territory
suggests that identity and meaning are dynamics closely related, so there is no one without the other. Therefore, the need to understand and attend
to both experiences of human being in his/her development is concluded.
