Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the perception of educators at 0-3 year nursery schools regarding their performance and professional satisfaction. It also seeks to identify relevant factors that affect the level of professional satisfaction. For this purpose, an ad hoc questionnaire was constructed, com-
posed of 48 questions of diverse typology (open, closed, multiple response, Likert type), to explore the perception of professional performance in the dimensions considered fundamental according to the consulted bibliography: direct attention to the children at the school; communication with families; and
networking with players in the territory. 119 professionals at 19 nursery schools answered the questionnaire. A descriptive and inferential analysis of the data was carried out using the statistical analysis program SPPS 26.0. The results show a high perception of performance and satisfaction in direct
care with the child and in communication with families, and a lower perception as regards networking. Concerning the relevant factors that affect satisfaction levels, fluid communication with families and sharing educational criteria with them stand out; this last variable is the only one that shows
a statistically significant relationship with all the measures of professional satisfaction analysed. The discussion highlights the importance of strengthening work with families and pro-fessionals in the territory beyond the specific classroom where the educational action takes place.
