Epistemology and the case method

Research output: Book chapterChapter

Abstract

The case method has been mainly developed as a didactical instrument for training managers and students in analysis of situations and decision making. But many time we use it as a method for scientific research. This kind of application is criticised by the inconclusive epistemological argument that it involves an induction based on the observation of a single process. We think that the best way to clarify this point is to study the logic and philosophical problems of induction.
