Abstract
Abdelkader is a multifaceted character: spiritual teacher, anticolonial activist, poet, and founder of modern Algeria. His mystical bond with Ibn Arabi resulted in an identity that, throughout the events of his life, left a deep mark on all those people who met him. Whether in Algeria or in his exile in France first and Syria then, he passed on an immemorial testimony of the possibility to live together harmoniously with cultural alterity.
