El funcionamiento del mercado interior europeo de energía en una encrucijada: entre la competencia y la intervención pública

Abstract

In the debate on the European internal energy market reform provoked by the high prices registered since mid-2021, the text tries to distinguish between arguments based on the actual functioning of this market from those that convey ideal images of it. Given the essential role that competition must play in a liberalized energy system and accepting that all competition is imperfect, regulation appears as the more reliable way to promote it.
