Abstract

After the Second World War a lot of international organizations, both regional and specialized ones, appeared. Sometimes their activities overlapped. IN the area of labour law and social security, the Western European Union transferred its duties to the Council of Europe, whose codification of a minimum of labour rights has helped to shape national laws in a closer way through cooperation than supranational attempts by the European Union through its supranational principles.
