Abstract

Food waste is a global issue that needs to be tackled in order to reach sustainable development. In particular, reducing food waste at school canteens offers relevant environmental, social and economic benefits. This study tries to understand how school canteen management can be improved so that schools contribute to a more sustainable food system. As a final outcome of this research a prioritised list of food waste reduction interventions is offered.
