Abstract

This research is based on the identification of a series of key dimensions, to know the perception of the quality of a municipal sports service, by the users. Not only are the opinions linked to objective proposals such as the installation itself, and what related toit, such as prices, location, typology of services, ancillary services, etc., are analyzed. It intends to go further and seeks to know what makes users perceive the quality of the municipal sports service received, one way or another. This is a comparative study with more than 1000 user surveys of different municipal sports facilities, which identifies a series of qualifying dimensions, and a series of common elements that appear as key elements in any sports service. In addition, were also surveyed the political and technical leaders of the municipalities analyzed. It should be noted that the study analyzes exclusively sports services of a municipal character, and therefore with a public aspect. In this way it has also been tried to know the degree of adequacy of the public policies, in this case municipal, in comparison with the real demands of the citizens who receive them. Thus, this work contributes, in a certain way, to the design of policies to promote sport and health, with common denominators in allthe municipalities analyzed, and therefore, elements that are presented as basic or necessary for any policy that is intended to be successful
