Abstract

Taking as starting point that immigrant children learning mathematics in mainstream schools experience a transition process, and on the basis of the empirical research we have been developing until now, we present in which ways immigrant students give meaning to the new school mathematical practices and reconstruct their mathematical identity together with their parents, their classmates and, essentially, their teacher.
