Abstract
In this book, the role of HRM and organisational practices is highlighted as fundamental in defining and implementing sustainable operations strategies. Companies that develop sustainable operations strategies in terms of the triple bottom line must manage the complexity and interrelation of environmental, social and economic issues to define and implement sustainability programmes (i.e., environmental and social programmes) and operations programmes (i.e., lean manufacturing).
