Abstract
Numerical simulation has proved nowadays to be a useful tool in forming processes. The demand of faster and user-friendly software applied to more complex simulations makes efficiency and accuracy a top priority of developers. This paper addresses some requirements of forming simulation software in order to help industry improve their design and manufacture processes. In particular, the main focus is on the innovative developments made in the Stampack software for the simulation of sheet forming operations regarding an efficient formulation, accuracy of calculating the elastic recovery (springback) and automated product/process design.
