Abstract
In this article, we go deeper into the geographical study of sports practice in Catalonia through the application of models of geographical variation of production and migration. The specific case of tennis practice and its relation with the territory is studied and the dynamics that have been produced are analysed with the help of graphic representation of the data. The results regarding the specific case of study, through its discussion, makes it possible to explain the current distribution of tennis practice in the territory. A longitudinal analysis in time is made which allows us to understand the processes that have been produced with regard to innovation, diffusion, and adoption of this sport, as well as another of the recent situation that provides information about the production of those who practice it, playing spaces and organizational structure of specific territorial areas. As conclusions of this study, we specify the reasons for the transformations observed in tennis practice, extrapolating them beyond this sport and extending its validity to other practices which have followed the same process of diffusion.
