Abstract

This paper presents a novel uniplanar tunable bandpass filter. In this filter, each resonator can be reconfigured easily using PIN diodes or MEMS switches. Design equations are derived from a simple circuit model which takes into account the multimodal behavior of the coplanar waveguide. Experimental measurements of a 2-GHz prototype, featuring reconfigurable bandwidth and low losses, validate the filter topology and the proposed multimodal model.
