Resum
This review article provides a current description of organizational development and process consultation as a field and profession. Valuable elements from classical definitions of organizational change and development remain intact while more attention is paid to adaptive and continuous changes in social systems and transformations in societies. Process consultation and change facilitation is defined as the field that focuses on improving collaboration in groups, teams, organizations and between organizations by guiding change processes to achieve positive results for people, organizations and society. As an interdisciplinary field, process consultation and change facilitation contribute to strengthening the power of communities to shape its own future and realize sustainable changes. After determining the position of process consultation, the roles and competencies of change facilitators are elaborated and the interplay between people working on change is described.
