Resum
Nowadays, the development of a positive school climate is a priority issue in most educational environments, so that, educational professionals must update their ways of dealing with interpersonal relationships and conflicts. It is in this context that school mediation has shown its potential in different countries by improving the individual, the interpersonal relationships, and the school climate. We present a study that aims at assessing school mediation according to high school students' perception. We make some recommendations that could be transferred to similar backgrounds. Data has been collected from 1771 students through an ad hoc questionnaire. Results from the descriptive and inferential study highlighted an elevated degree of agreement in positively appraising mediation. Students also expressed the need to better spread the information about the mediation service in the school, the importance of training all students, and demanded the use of conflict mediation in tasks more related with teaching and learning activities, as well as in disputes affecting both students and teachers.
